For washing, hand washing is preferable. Use cold water and a small amount of mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemicals or bleach. Lightly stir the fabric in the water and avoid wringing or twisting the fabric. To maintain its softness and prevent shrinkage, let the hijab air dry.
